1. What's in your download

Your ZIP glam-beauty-noir-shopify-theme.zip is a complete, installable Shopify theme:

  • layout/ theme.liquid — global head, fonts, header, footer, SEO & JSON-LD
  • sections/ glam-noir.liquid — the animated homepage (video hero, shades, products, ritual, banner, gallery, reviews, newsletter)
  • templates/ index, product, collection, cart, blog, article, 404, and custom page.about / page.faq / page.contact / page.shipping / page.returns / page.colour-match
  • assets/ glam-noir.css, glam-noir.js, glam-pages.css
  • config/, locales/, snippets/

2. Install the theme (2 minutes)

  1. Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes.
  2. Under Theme library click Add theme → Upload zip file.
  3. Select glam-beauty-noir-shopify-theme.zip and upload.
  4. Click Customize to preview, or ⋯ → Preview. When happy, ⋯ → Publish.

3. Create your pages (so every menu link works)

Shopify pages are content you create once, then point at the theme's ready-made templates. Online Store → Pages → Add page for each, and on the right under Theme template choose the matching template:

The design and copy are built into each template — you can leave the page body empty or add your own.

Journal (blog)

  1. Online Store → Blog posts → Manage blogs → Add blog. Title it Journal (handle journal).
  2. Add a post so /blogs/journal isn't empty.

4. Wire up the navigation menu

Online Store → Navigation → Main menu and set: Shop → /collections/all, About → About page, Journal → Journal blog, FAQ → FAQ page, Contact → Contact page. (The homepage header already links to these.)

5. Edit colours, fonts & the hero video

Open Online Store → Themes → ⋯ → Edit code.

  • Colours: assets/glam-noir.css, top :root block — --bg:#0d0b0c (background), --gold:#c9a86a (accent). Change these two to re-skin the whole theme.
  • Fonts: the Google Fonts <link> and --serif/--sans variables live in sections/glam-noir.liquid and layout/theme.liquid.
  • Hero video: in sections/glam-noir.liquid find the <source src="…mp4"> in the .hero block and replace with your own MP4 URL (Settings → Files to host one). The poster image shows while it loads and on reduced-motion devices.
  • Images: swap any <img src> in the section for your product/brand photos.
  • Products & prices: the homepage “icons” are styled cards — edit names/prices in the section, or wire them to real products.

6. International & multi-currency

Go to Settings → Markets, add your countries and enable local currencies. The header currency switcher and data-usd prices then display correctly per region.

7. SEO checklist

  • Set Online Store → Preferences: homepage title & meta description, social share image, Google verification.
  • Each page/product has its own SEO fields — fill the meta description.
  • The theme already ships semantic markup, a single H1 per page, Open Graph and JSON-LD structured data.
